Project – Child's Windsor Chair
Over the years at Bates and Lambourne we have made quite a number of child-sized Windsor chairs. Whilst they have all been variations on the theme, we had never produced them in sufficient number to allow a thorough process of prototyping and development. Partly encouraged by a number of orders for such a chair arriving at once, and also one of the partners having two small children of small chair age at present, we have now refined our previous versions of the chair into one very well-proportioned design.
It is built from English ash, can be polished in any of our range of finishes, and is available either in the simple stickback style, or as a wheelback. A popular option, shown in the accompanying photographs is the ‘blind’ wheelback, onto which for a small additional charge, an inscription can be carved, for example name or initials and date or year of birth.
We are pleased to be able to offer the Child’s Chair at £156 each for the wheelback or the stickback style. Inscriptions on either the blind wheelback or on the top hoop of the stickback version cost £5 per letter plus £5 set-up charge. All prices include VAT at 20%. We are happy to arrange packing and delivery if required, at £35 for the UK mainland. The Child’s Chair is a classic gift; it is beautiful, durable and useful, an heirloom in the making.
